Le Soli is a spacious (47sqm) fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment that sleeps 4-6. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and has a wrap-around balcony with spectacular views over the Chatel slopes and the Abondance Valley.
LARGE ONE BEDROOM SKI APARTMENT FOR RENT
The apartment is fully furnished. There is a kitchen/dining area with fridge, electric hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster etc., dining table, 6 chairs, fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, utensils, glasses etc. The living area has a sofa, single bed, coffee table, TV and DVD and a large sliding door to the balcony which is south-west facing.
There are a few games and paperback books available for guests.
In addition the apartment also has its own parking space and a ski locker available for the use of guests. A highchair is provided for our smaller guests.

CHATEL TOURIST INFORMATION
The village of Chatel (1235m/4025ft) is one of the most attractive resorts in the Haute-Savoire region of the French Alps. It is a traditional ‘Savoyard’ farming village that has managed to retain its rustic charm whilst offering modern facilities to welcome both summer and winter tourists. It is found on the border with France and Switzerland between Geneva and Mont Blanc.
In the bustling village centre there are 2 grocery stores, fine wine/local produce, banks, garages, newsagents, sportswear/ski hire and gift shops etc. There are at least 15 restaurants serving a wide variety of food within walking distance of the apartment. The bar scene is lively with 2 British style pubs and regular French bars. There is also a farmers market every Wednesday just 50m from the apartment.
Chatel is part of the main Portes du Soleil ski domain and has access to over 650km of prepared pistes along the border of France and Switzerland.
Chatel has an excellent snow record and Le Soli is ideally placed for getting to the ski slopes. The Super Chatel chairlift is a short walk away and free buses will collect you from outside the apartment and take you to the chair lifts in Linga and Pre-la-Joux.
Experts may be challenged by the steep on and off-piste runs above Linga and Plaine Dranse as well as 'The Wall’ leading from Avoriaz into Switzerland. Intermediates will have the whole of the Portes du Soleil to explore. Beginners are well catered for at Super Chatel and Pre-la-Joux. There are also a few nursery slopes in the village. Night skiing can be enjoyed from 7-9pm every Tuesday evening throughout the winter season.
There are 6 ski and snowboard schools in Chatel offering a variety of courses and have different approaches to instruction. English speaking guides/instructors are available. Most ski schools also offer classes tailored to children.
In the summer season you have access to hundreds of kilometers of mountain biking tracks and mountain footpaths of varying difficulty. There are also man-made mountain biking trails to suit all levels throughout the region with a new bike park at Pre-la-joux. The lifts are open during July and August making your mountain ascents much easier.
There are 8 tennis courts and a large open air pool within a 10 minute walk of the apartment. Facilities for other activities such as rock climbing, via ferrata, white water rafting, pony trekking and canyoning are also close by.
The pretty towns of Evian and Thonon-les-Bains are both within a 40 minute drive. Here you can catch a ferry to travel across lake Geneva or participate in other beach side activities such as watersking and sailing. These towns also have spa and wellness centers. On the Swiss side, Montreux (home of the world renowned Jazz Festival during the first two weeks of July) is a 40 minute drive away.
Child care is readily available. The Marmottons nursery will look after children during the day in both summer and winter. In winter it is even open in the weekend. They provide a range of activities such as sledging and igloo making as well as skiing/boarding lessons in winter. Please ask us for details.

- Nearest airport: Geneva is 80 kilometers away (1 1/2 hour drive).
- Nearest Railway station: Aigle in Switzerland is 25 kilometers (25 minute drive)
- Nearest Motorway: Monthery in Switzerland is 20 kilometers (20 minute drive)
- Nearest Ferry Port: Calais is 600 kilometers (8 hour drive)
